The design process begins with a consultation. Tim will meet with you for 1-1.5 hours. In this time you can discuss your brief, what you want to achieve, stylistic preferences, lifestyle, and budget considerations for install.

It is an essential step to ensure Tim has a full understanding of your preferences and needs before embarking on a design project.

If you are unsure if you need a complete formal design, consultations are commitment free and can serve as an opportunity to discuss potential directions for your garden, and whether a design or plant selection is right for you.

Consultations are $300 + GST and travel fee, priced depending on location.

Concept

Following the initial consultation, Tim will put together a broad concept for your design, including rough sketches and mood boards to ensure we are on the same page about the style you want to evoke. This is helpful to determine the direction for the design before we finalise any specific details.

Design

Here Tim will take the concept and develop this out into a bespoke design using AutoCAD software. We may also produce 3D visual renders to clearly demonstrate the intended outcome.

Documentation

Once the detailed design has been finalised, we will create a master document that will include the exact layout for landscaping, plant positioning and any other details required. It will provide all the information needed to plan your garden installation.

Design Package - Starting from $9000

Planting design is the art of selecting and placing plants to make a design composition. For clients who already have completed landscaping or a garden layout they are happy with, Tim offers stand-alone planting design services.

With his many years of horticultural experience, plant knowledge and design is Tim's key expertise, and his plant selections are highly sought after. A strong plant selection is essential to a successful garden design, and is an area that is neglected far too often in modern hard-landscaping focused gardens.

Tim specialises in naturalistic planting design influenced by the work of Piet Oudolf. This style takes inspiration from how plants are arranged in nature. Tim has exceptional knowledge of herbaceous perennial plants that work well both with this style and in the harsh Australian climate.

Plant selections start from $2500.

We do not provide hard landscaping services ourselves, but can recommend trusted landscaping contractors we have worked with before you help bring your design to life.

You are welcome to engage a landscaper directly yourself, or if required you can engage TP Gardens to oversee this process to ensure everything goes smoothly and according to plan.

Once the garden framework is in place Tim will place all plants himself, and planting will be completed by the TP Gardens team. This ensures that Tim's skill in plant knowledge, layout and planting schemes is executed exactly according to the design vision.

Due to high demand, we currently only provide limited maintenance services to gardens we have designed ourselves, focusing on horticultural expertise and plant care.
