The brief for the garden at Room and Board was to create an immersive and romantic feel in a small space. It had to at once be contemporary to complement the architecture, and soft to suit the country location.

Tim achieved this by using perennial plantings in a muted palette. The result is an iconic garden, and the shot of the front garden and steps has been featured in magazines and guest’s instagram feeds alike.

The garden highlights Tim’s particular skill at designing small spaces to seem bigger than they really are. The textural elements of the garden provide a sensory experience that fosters feelings of seclusion and peace.
